VFW Selects 2018 Patriot Pen Winners

The Patriot Pen Contest is sponsored by the VFW each year.  It is an essay contest for grades 5-8.  This year's topic was "Why Do I Honor The American Flag?" Each student writes their own 300-400 word essay explaining the topic. The essays are then judged by a variety of teachers, and the winners are awarded prizes from the VFW.  

The overall winner for BGS will go on to compete in the district competition.  We are honored to be a part of this great program.  This year's winners were: 5th grade : 3rd- Carter Norton, 2nd- Aiden Walters, 1st- Jazmeen Ankron    6th Grade: 3rd- Nora Sanders, 2nd- Nicholas Supancic, 1st- Aireonna Johnson 7th Grade: 3rd- Camdyn Hill, 2nd -Cort Wehr 1st- Adri Tonn 8th Grade: 3rd- Ember Milby  2nd- Ryleigh Bates 1st- Cali Pankey. The overall school winner is Cali Pankey. Congrats to all the winners and all of those who participated! Pictured are the winners with VFW representatives.
