BGS Students Compete in Science Fair

Emma Milby and Joey Copple, 2018 Science Fair

BGS Students, Emma Milby (8th grade) and Joey Copple (7th grade), competed at the Region 8 Science Fair at SIU-C on Tuesday, April 2, 2019.

Joey's Behavioral Science Project was titled, "Does Gender Affect Optical Illusion Perception?" He received a Gold rating. 

Emma's Environmental Science Project titled "Which Type of Styrofoam Do Mealworms Prefer?" received a Gold rating. She was also awarded $200 from the College of Science for Outstanding Work in Science. Emma advances to the State Science Fair at SIU-C on Saturday, May 4, 2019. 

Emma and Joey competed with students from 7th - 12th grades from Region 8. There were approximately 300 projects. Fifty-four students from our region advanced to State.
