Pollution is the introduction of contaminants into the natural environment that cause adverse change. Pollution can take the form of chemical substances or energy, such as noise, heat or light. Pollutants, the components of pollution, can be either foreign substances/energies or naturally occurring contaminants.

The five major types of pollution include: air pollution, water pollution, soil pollution, light pollution, and noise pollution. These types of pollution are very devastating to see in action.

Illinois is not the cleanest state out in the world. Illinois does not have an ocean. We are lucky in the way of us not having an ocean because of the fact that plastic in our world’s ocean is terrible. Microplastics kill animals, and who uses plastic…. We do! This world was here before us and we are the ones killing our own planet! I don’t think our world and its species should have to bear the consequences of humans trash/junk. There are also dangers for humans that we might not even know! Chemicals in plastic can be harmful to humans. If you look in any direction, anyway ,and anywhere you are most likely to see plastic somewhere. Plastic is great because it is durable and its terrible because its durable. I think we should stop using at least half of the plastic we use and look for alternatives rather than plastic. I also think we should recycle a lot more than we do.
