5-8 Announcements for 3/9/21

The girls basketball team begins their regular season tonight at Mt. Vernon (5:30 PM). No spectators from the visiting team are allowed, but the games will be live streamed on their YouTube page: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdsCrhI_1kSkLXbooGTyqGQ Good luck girls!!!

The boys' basketball regional tournament kicks off tonight in the Event Center. Each team was given 25 spectator tickets, and a ticket must be presented to pay admission into the game. Tickets are for the game your team is playing in only. The gym will be cleared and cleaned between the two contests. Benton and West Frankfort start the night at 5:00 PM followed by Du Quoin and Johnston City. Thanks again to our families and fans for making this unusual season as enjoyable as possible! The volleyball regional kicks off tonight. Benton plays West Frankfort at 5:00 PM, followed by DuQuoin and Johnston City. Each team was provided with 25 spectator tickets. Doors will open at 4:40 PM for those with tickets to the first game. Spectators for the second game will be allowed to enter once the gym has been cleared and cleaned. We appreciate everyone's cooperation during a season that has been far from normal. Congratulations to the Varsity boys' basketball team on an exciting, overtime win against Carterville last night. The boys will be back in action for their final regular season game this Thursday at Carbondale. Carbondale streams games through their Facebook page, "Carbondale Elementary School District #95 Sports".

We were experiencing technical difficulties with the Live Stream of the 8th grade basketball game. Check the Benton 47 you tube page as we should be back up and running. Benton is up 13-7 after the 1st quarter.

Saturday sports! Volleyball hosts Carterville while Basketball travels to Carterville. JV contests for both start at 10:00 AM. Doors will open for JV volleyball ticket holders at 9:40 AM.
