Please read the letter posted on the Benton #47 website regarding Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer Program (P-EBT) all students will be receiving in March. The letter provides details of food assistance benefits your student(s) will be receiving from the State of Illinois for days he/she received remote instruction. We wanted to communicate this to you in advance so you are not caught off guard when you receive the benefits. Thank you.

Congratulations to our 8th Boys' Basketball team on their win again Mt. Vernon last night. The boys are on the road again tomorrow night at Marion. The Live Stream links are available in "News" section and will be shared again prior to the game.

Tuesday, February 2nd Sports Update: The Volleyball games for this week have been canceled. Boys' Basketball will be at Mt. Vernon tonight and Marion on Thursday. Check out the "News" section of the website for links to Live Stream channels. I will also post direct links to all contests once they go live.
Benton #47 Parents/Guardians: Late this afternoon, just prior to dismissal, we had a student report a threatening message written on a bathroom wall at BMS. After working with Benton Police Dept. and interviewing several students, we do not believe the threat has any credibility. However, we will have an increased police presence on campus tomorrow and for the remainder of the week. We wanted to make sure we communicated this to you as quickly as possible. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know. Thank you.

Athletic Calendar for 2/1-2/6
The Girls' Basketball tryout dates/times are listed below. There is a sign up sheet posted on the office windows. Please make sure you have a sports physical on file with the school before tryouts.
Tuesday, Feb 2nd- 6:30-7:30 AM (6/7th Grade) Event Center
Wednesday, Feb 3rd- 6:30-7:30 AM (8th Grade) Event Center

Volleyball and Boys' Basketball tryout information:
Volleyball tryouts will be held on Monday, January 25th for the 8th grade team from 2:00-4:00 PM and the 7th grade team from 4:00-6:00 PM.
Boys’ Basketball tryouts will use the following schedule.
Tuesday, January 26th:
6th grade: 2:00 -3:30 PM
7th and 8th grade: 3:30-5:00 PM
Wednesday, January 27th:
6th grade: 2:00 - 3:00 PM
7th and 8th grade: 4:00-5:30 PM
*Masks are required for all athletes, coaches, and anyone else involved in athletic activities.
*Athlete’s should bring their own water bottle.
*Spectators are not permitted in tryouts or practices.
