Picture day for 5-8 students at BGS will be on Wednesday, September 16th. Remote learning students will have pictures taken from 2:30-3:00 (5th and 6th grades) and 3:00-3:30 (7th and 8th grades). Picture packets will be sent home, available in the office or online shortly.
Parents: This morning we were notified a student at BGS tested positive for COVID 19. We immediately took action. Bi-county Health was notified. They immediately conducted contact tracing. Students who need to be quarantined moving forward are being notified by the school and the health department. If you have not been notified by the school or Bi-County, your student was not in close contact with the positive case. Please remember to complete self certification before sending your child to school. Thank you.
Parents: Letters were sent home today with students regarding changes to our learning schedule. The letter is also posted on our website under the news section along with an updated 2020-21 school calendar.
Parents: This past weekend we had three staff members and several students who were in close contact with an individual who tested positive for COVID-19. Contact tracing was completed Sunday and all individuals who were in close contact have been quarantined according to IDPH guidelines. These individuals have not been at school since their contact. We want you to have accurate up-to-date information just in case you hear otherwise. Thank you.

The softball and baseball teams are back in action today in the park against Marion. If you plan on coming out, please follow IDPH guidelines and remember to spread out around the field to help with social distancing. Good luck!
K-4 classroom t-shirt order forms are due on Friday, Aug. 21. Forms can be found under the Documents/PTO tab on the website. Get your form to your child's teacher!

A cross country sign up form has been posted on the 5-8 office windows. Any 6th, 7th, or 8th grader interested in running should sign up by Thursday, August 13th. Practice will begin on Monday, August 17th from 3:15-4:15 at the track. Students must have a sports physical on file to attend practice.
Parents we are moving dismissal to 11:30 am due to storm damage. We still do not have electricity in many areas, internet, phones, and AC. please do not arrive early we can’t accommodate an early rush of parents due to limitations. Busses will run as normal. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Baseball and Softball practices for Tuesday, August 4th have been move to 3:30-5:30 PM due to field conditions.
Participation in baseball, softball, and cross country was approved today by the SIJHSAA. There will need to be some modifications made to our current schedules, but we hope to have those finalized by the middle of next week. See www.sijhsaa.com for updated information.
