Due to Friday’s court decision, Benton #47 will move to masking “optional” beginning Monday, February 7. We encourage masking in all district buildings but it is no longer required. In addition, due to Federal Transportation guidelines, masking will still be required on all district bus routes. All other COVID 19 mitigation strategies will remain in place.
Unless otherwise notified, all bus routes should be running close to their regular schedule tomorrow morning (Monday, February 7th) with the exception of Dark Blue. Students on the Logan route need to meet at Post Office/City Hall at 6:55 am and will leave there at 7:10 am.
Benton #47 will be closed on Thursday, February 3 and Friday, February 4 due to inclement weather. Be safe and enjoy the snow!

Boys' Basketball Regional Update: Due to predicted weather conditions later in the week, the first round regional basketball game has been change to Tuesday, February 1st at Casey Middle School, in Mt. Vernon. The game will start at 6:00 PM. The bus will leave at 4:45 PM from the front of the Event Center. Good luck boys!
Congratulations to the 7th grade boys basketball team on their 1st round win in the conference tournament. The boys are back in action tomorrow in Herrin at 9:00 AM. With a win, they will play again at 12:00 PM tomorrow. The bus time for tomorrow is 7:45 AM from the front of the Event Center. Good Luck!
Unfortunately, we have not been able to find a team available to replace Harrisburg for tonight. The boys basketball team will practice after school until 4:00 PM. 8th grade basketball players and cheerleaders will be recognized before a home volleyball game in the coming weeks. A date for the recognition will be announced soon.
We just got a call from Harrisburg canceling our boys basketball game tonight. A mass message has been sent out looking for an opponent to replace them this evening. I will post another update around noon. At this time, the 7th grade tournament is still scheduled as planned.

The boys basketball regional bracket is attached. BGS opens up regional play on Wednesday, February 2nd at Du Quoin against Mt Vernon (7:00 PM).
The boys basketball game at Carbondale tonight has been cancelled due to current and incoming weather conditions.
The 2021-2022 yearbook order form is attached to this message. Once again, yearbooks will only be available to order online. The deadline to order is February 18th, 2022.

The boys' 7th grade conference tournament bracket is attached. Our first round game will be on Friday, January 28th @ Harrisburg. The game time is 2:00 PM. The last two rounds of the tournament will be held at Herrin on Saturday, January 29th.
The boys’ basketball game with West Frankfort has been rescheduled for Wednesday, January 26th at 5:00 PM.
