BGS Parents,
This morning we had a fire in our 5-8 mechanical room. As a result, we have lost power and many of our safety and technology systems are down. Tomorrow, Monday, August 21, will be a remote learning day. It is my hope we can resolve these issues tomorrow. We will update you tomorrow regarding Tuesday attendance. Also, we will have breakfast and lunch pick up available at the K-2 gym entrance between 10 -11:30 am. I apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you.
Cross Country tryouts are tomorrow at the track from 3pm-4pm. Students must have an updated physical to try out.
Reminder
School starts tomorrow. Doors will open at 7:30am and breakfast will be served until 7:55am. We will follow a 2pm dismissal schedule from August 9th through August 25th.

Meet the Teacher Night will be tomorrow, Monday, August the 7th. K-4 will be 5-6pm. 5-8 will be 5:30-6:30pm. Come and meet your teacher and drop off school supplies. Hope to see you there!
Student schedules are now available on TeacherEase. Hard copies will be available for 5-8 students in the Event Center at Meet the Teacher Night on August 7th. Any changes to schedules will be made on Wednesday August 9th during the school day.

Softball Tryouts
Softball tryouts scheduled for tomorrow and next Monday have been moved to Wednesday (5/24) @ Benton Park. Incoming 8th graders will start at 9am and 7th/6th graders will start at 10am. Athletes must have a physical in order to participate. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Davis or Coach Blades. Thanks
6th Grade Physicals/Sports Physicals- Incoming 6th graders will be able to have their physicals done by Nurse Rock on May 18th.
She will also be doing sports physicals that day for incoming 7th and 8th graders. Packets were sent home for students interested in playing sports. Extra packets will be in the 5/8 office.
STATE CHAMPION!!
Congratulations to Analisse McLain on her 1st place finish at state for pole vault. She tied the state record at 9 foot. Congratulations to our other athletes that competed at the state meet. Jaycee Webb (4th in hurdles), Keezley Wilson, Hadley Moyers, Brooklyn Neitzel, Aaden Webb, and John Salatas.

Dates: May 30 to June 22, 2023, Mon, Tues, Wed. and Thursdays
Serving Time: 8:00 am to 10:00 am
Breakfast is free for children and teens ages 18 and under.
No application or registration required!
All meals must be consumed on site. No grab and go bags can be offered this year.
The meals served are healthy and follow USDA nutrition guidelines.
Summer meals for kids and teens are available all summer long at sites across our community!

Reminder: 2023-2024 registration packets should be returned by Friday May 5th. Registration paperwork must be turned in for all present BGS students in order for them to be registered for the 2023-2024 school year. If you did not receive a registration packet or need an extra one, they are available in the K-4 and 5-8 offices.
